Why this board looks the way it does

Ranked by last season's points — because we tested a fancier model and it didn't win. Team strength, expected goals, a per-position regression — all checked honestly against just ranking by last season's total points, and none of it beat the simple board. So we ship the honest one and tell you exactly what it is. See the methodology →

Total points, not per-game. In a draft you own a player all season, so availability is value — a player who missed half the year with a knock was worth less, and we don't hide that behind a per-game rate.

What you're looking at already happened — it isn't a projection. Every number is last season's completed output. And because prior-year FPL draft ranks were never stored, any two-season comparison here uses actual finishes, not old ranks.

~40% of the draft pool has no Premier League history — foreign signings, promoted clubs, academy debuts. FPL's editorial rank guesses at them; we don't have the data to, so we leave them out of the ranking rather than rank them as zeros or make something up.
